Former Dallas County Prosecutor

I built criminal cases as a Dallas County prosecutor. I know how the State assembles a file, which witnesses carry it, and where it breaks. Now that knowledge works for you.

About Patrick

I built these cases for the State. Now I take them apart.

I prosecuted criminal cases for Dallas County, including family violence cases. I know how the State builds these files, which witnesses they lean on, and where the cases break. Now I use that knowledge on your side of the courtroom.

That perspective matters most in the cases the State treats as its strongest. Arson of a habitation, dismissed before trial. A second-degree felony arson, dismissed. Sexual assault of a child charges that ended in a dismissal in one case and a grand jury no-bill in another. In juvenile court, the State moved to certify my client as an adult on an aggravated sexual assault of a child charge. The certification was denied, and the case was dismissed.

When a case has to be tried, I try it. A first-degree fentanyl MAN/DEL case went to a jury, and the verdict on the MAN/DEL count was not guilty. An aggravated robbery client who was already on probation, and who picked up new offenses while on probation, received probation at trial. An assault on a public servant ended in probation after the State’s pretrial offer was prison.

I have also dismissed several Assault Family Violence cases—the same charge I once prosecuted—along with aggravated assault involving serious bodily injury, unlawful restraint, injury to a disabled individual, and a state-jail felony criminal mischief. On a second-degree felony theft case, I argued a $1 million bond down to $50,000.

If you are facing a serious charge, you want someone who has read these files from the State’s side of the table. Call me before you talk to anyone else.
